Obama’s “ascendancy is an excellent illustration of how the system handles dissent. A black face, a soothing voice and a vague message of change – all designed to keep the rabble pacified without changing anything at all.” — Mickey Z

The two party system has this problem: there is no alternative!
The two party system acts a if there is a left and right wing candidate. If you vote for a candidate like nader or McKinney, you strengthen the rightwing candidate, by robbing vote from the ‘left’ (Democrats). As the ‘left’ is invariably at best acenrist candidate. Why was Kucinich never chosen as the democratic candidate? Because the Democrat bosses did not want someone with his left credentials.
So you had always Obama or McCain.
How is this system superior to Cubas?
